"Violet" Giant Sea Turtle
This specimen of an unidentified, possibly new, large sea turtle from the Pierre Shale of South Dakota was sitting out in the weather for far too long. When we discovered it, the poor thing was scattered mostly down the hill in pieces or crawling with roots and desiccation cracks in situ. Regardless, we gathered as much as we could and have been piecing it together slowly for years. It is a puzzle to be sure, but one that might be scientifically important. Offered to museums only, this specimen might make an affordable display piece or research specimen to the right place.
Serious inquiries only.
